    • Q:My name was rejected during sign up.
    • A: When you sign up for a personal profile, please make sure your full name doesn't contain any invalid punctuation and that it contains a last name.
    • Q:I don't receive my confirmation email.
    • A: For this problem, follow these step:
      1. Check your mailbox and look in spam or junk folder or filter
      2. Check whether you're logging in with the correct email address.
      3. Please note that your ISP (Internet Service Provider) might block some emails.
    • Q:How do I import my contact from my other email?
    • A: After you import contact from your first email, you can select "Import more contact from my other emails"
    • Q:It says an existing account is associated with my email address.
    • A:

      Please request a new password for your account.

      If you are not the account owner and are attempting to sign up for an account, then please be aware that you can sign up only for one Snember account per email address. Email addresses are offered for free by many websites (e.g., Yahoo!, Gmail).

    • Q:It says my email address is invalid.
    • A: Please make sure your email address is in standard format e.g., john@xxx.com
    • Q:The security check isn’t working for me.
    • A: Please clear your cache and refresh it by clicking the refresh button.
    • Q:What is the minimum age eligible to sign up for Snember? How old do I have to be?
    • A: Users must be thirteen (13) years of age or older in order to sign up for Snember.
    • Q:What do I need to do to sign up for this site?

      From our Sign Up page, just provide us with your full name, email address, birthday, and desired password. If you are part of one of our supported high school, college, or work networks, you will be given instructions on how to affiliate yourself.

      If you are not a member of one of these networks, you can join one of our Regional Networks after registration.

      After you complete the sign up form, we will send an email to the address you provided. You have to click on the confirmation link to complete the sign up process.

    • Q:What are regional network, educational network, workplace network and brand network?
    • A:

      Regional network means real existing regions registered to Snember. You're automatically member of a Regional Network of the country you typed in during sign up.

      Educational network means real existing educational organization or institutions registered to Snember. You can join them according to conditions of each network.

      Workplace network means real existing company or organization registered to Snember. You can join them according to conditions of each network.

      Brand network means real existing brand registered to Snember. You can join them according to conditions of each network.

    • Q:How do I join my educational/workplace network?
    • A: It depends on conditions of each educational/workplace network, which can be
      1. Join instantly without any verification.
      2. Join using an email address registered under specific network.
      3. Join using code from specific network.
      4. Join with approval of at least 5 members of specific network.
    • Q:I can't find my high educational network on Snember. Can I suggest new?
    • A: You can add your educational network here

      To fix this problem, follow the instructions below. You need to clearing your browser's cache before attempting to log in. Please note that we only support browsers listed below and strongly recommend that you update your browser to the newest version available.

      1. Click "Tools," then "Internet Options."
      2. On the "General" tab, in the "Temporary Internet Files" section, click the "Delete Files" button.
      3. Select "Delete Cookies."
      4. Click "Close."

      You need to enable cookies on your browser. If cookies that come to your mind are crumbly and edible, please read below:

      1. In Internet Explorer, find the Tools menu item and select Options. Then, click on the privacy tab and alter your privacy settings to allow cookies.
      2. In Firefox, go to the preferences/options page and then click on the "privacy" tab. In the cookies section, choose to "Allow sites to set cookies."
      3. In Safari, click "safari" on the top tab, scroll down to "preferences," and find the "security" tab. Then, either click "Always Accept Cookies" or "only from sites you navigate to."

      Once you're done, close and restart your browser and try logging in again. Please also make sure that your firewall and spyware protection programs already allow Snember cookies.

    • Q:Who will see my personal profile page?
    • A: Only your "friends" can view your Personal Profile page. Your fans will be limited to view only your Expert Showcase.
    • Q:Can I hide my blog on my Personal Profile page?
    • A: You can choose not to show your blog on your profile page. Simply go to Privacy Setting and select Profile Information.
    • Q:How do I change my Profile skin?
    • A: You can change your profile skin in Edit Profile in the Identity tab.
    • Q:How do I delete my Compliment?
    • A: You can delete compliments by clicking on the particular Compliment and click delete.
    • Q:How do I change my education info?

    • A: First you need to have 70% of profile completeness. Then a link will automatically appear on your home page. You can click the link to create Expert Showcase.
    • Q:Who will see my expert showcase page?

      There are two access level to your expert showcase:

      Full-expert showcase: for complete view of your Expert Showcase page. It’s for your friend, your fan and people at the 2nd – 3rd relationship degrees.

      Mini-expert showcase: this can view only part of your Expert Showcase page. It’s for people beyond the 3rd relationship degree.

    • Q:Can I hide my contact information on my expert showcase page?
    • A: You can choose not to show contact information on your Expert Showcase page. Go to Privacy Setting, then select Profile Information and select Expert Information.
    • Q:How do I reach the gold level ranking?
    • A: You need to collect as many EP point as possible. Or be the first ranking in your area of expertise.
    • Q:What is the difference between Compliment and Endorsement?
    • A: Compliment means commendations from your friend such as cute, funny or trusty. Compliment can’t earn you EP point. Your received Compliments will appear in Compliment part on your Personal Profile page. While Endorsement means official acceptions. Endorsement will earn you EP point. Your received Endorsements will appear in Endorsement part on your Personal Profile page.
    • Q:How do I change my Expert Showcase skin?
    • A: You can change your Expert Showcase skin in your Edit Profile page on Expert tab. Then select Showcase Information.
    • Q:What is the area of expertise?
    • A: It’s your skill, talent or interest in each area of expertise. One Snemb can have up to 3 areas of expertise.
    • Q:What is EP?
    • A:

      EP is short for Expert Point. You earn it from your expertise. The more point you have, the higher you rank in the chart. EP point differs in each area of expertise. This is how you earn the point:

      1. Answer questions in Opinions.
      2. Participate in Poll by Vote.
      3. Receive Endorsements from others.

• INBOX

  • • Q:How do I send a message?
    • A:

      It’s very easy to communicate with people on Snember.

      1. You can send someone a message while viewing his/her profile by selecting the "Send a Message" button under their profile picture. This option is also available from the right side of any search results screen. You can also select "Compose" from your Inbox, and type in the name of friends you would like to message.
      2. Once you call up the message box, just type a subject and a message and click "send." The person you send the message to will be notified the next time they log in.
    • Q:How many people can I message at once?
    • A: You can message up to one hundred people at once.
    • Q:What is a thread?
    • A: A message "thread" is how we refer to several messages about one topic. Let’s say you and ten people are all messaging back and forth about "My Favorite Song on my iPod" that is kept in the Inbox as one "thread". If you reply individually to just one person, the conversation between you and that person will be kept as a second thread entirely.
    • Q:How do I find an old message thread?
    • A: You can search for an old message thread by using Inbox search. At the top-right of your Inbox or Sent Messages section is a search field. You can enter the name of a friend you've corresponded with or the exact text you're looking for to find an old message. Selecting your friend's name from the drop-down that appears will filter your Inbox by correspondence with that person.
    • Q:How can I forward a message or loop someone into a message thread?
    • A: You cannot forward Inbox messages at this time or loop someone into a message thread once it has begun.
    • Q:Can I ignore all requests?
    • A: You can ignore your entire request using the ignore all link at the top left of request navigation.
    • Q:I’m not receiving email notifications.
    • A:

      Please make sure you haven’t adjusted your email notification settings from the Notifications tab of the Account page.

      Please check your spam/junk email filter to ensure that emails coming from Snember haven’t been incorrectly placed in this folder.

      If you are still not receiving emails from Snember, please contact your ISP (Internet Service Provider) to ensure that they’re not blocking email traffic coming from Snember.

    • Q:I got an email saying I have a pending friend request, but I don’t see one.
    • A: Don’t lose the opportunity to make friends. Just send the other person a friend request from your account. Otherwise you could ask them to invite you again.
    • Q:I got an email asking for my Snember password.
    • A: Don't respond to this email! Snember will never request your password and we do not advise giving your login information to anyone under any circumstances.
    • Q:I want Snember notifications sent to a different email address.
    • A: You can setup a contact email address from the Settings tab of the Account page. Follow the simple steps to activate the new email address, and then the address can be used to login. It will also be the address we use to send Snember notifications.

• CALENDAR OF EVENTS

  • • Q:How can I share with my friends?
    • A:

      You can share your calendar with your friends by clicking the Calendar of Events link in You part. Then select Calendar Setting. You can share both Personal Calendar and Expert Calendar.

      1. You can share your Personal Calendar at two levels; share with all your friends and share with some of your friends.
      2. You can choose to share your Expert Calendar, meaning it’s visible to everyone, or not share with anyone
    • Q:Can I see my friend's Calendar?
    • A: You can view your friend’s Calendar if he/she has already shared his/her Calendar with you.
    • Q:How do I view my friends’ events in their calendars?
    • A: You can view your friends’ calendars by going to Calendar of Events and click on the "add" link in Other Calendar part, then select your friends’ names.

• LOGBOOK

  • • Q:I don’t want my friend to see "my updates".
    • A:

      You can keep your updates to yourself by following these steps:

      1. Select Privacy Setting.
      2. Select Updates and Logbook.
      3. Uncheck every checkbox in Your Updates area.
      4. Click "save".

• PROFILE VISITOR

  • • Q:I don’t want people to know I viewed their profiles
    • A:

      You can set your profile visits to hide your visit records from profile owners.

      1. Select Privacy Setting.
      2. Select Profile Visits.

• ACCOUNT SETTING

  • • Q:How do I add my secondary email to my account?

      To add secondary email, you have to

      1. Go to Privacy Setting.

      3. Uncheck all checkboxes in Contact Information area.

      To receive “add a friend” updates from your friends only, you have to

• COMPLIMENT/ENDORSEMENT

• SEARCH

  • • Q:I don’t see the group I created.
    • A:

      Please check which network does your group belong to, and please check the access policy of the particular group.

      If your group is set as Global, every Snember users can find your group by search. In case your group’s access policy is set as Secret, your group will be visible only to people you invite to join

    • Q:People can’t find me in their search.
    • A:

      This depends how you set your Search & Access option in Privacy Settings. In order to be found, you have to

      1. Go to Privacy Settings.
      2. Select Search & Access.
      3. You can choose to be discovered by 4 groups of people:
         • Your friends and all your Network members
         • Your friends and some of your Network members
         • Your friends only
         • Some of your friends

      Please note that some people can’t find you because they’re not in the same network as you.

    • Q:I found someone in my search, but can’t send message or request to add them as a friend.
    • A:

      It’s up to how they set their Search & Access option in their Privacy Settings. They might set not to receive message from anybody. You can do the same if you want, by

      1. Go to Privacy Settings.
      2. Select Search & Access.
      3. Uncheck checkboxes in “Send you a message” area.

• POKE

  • • Q:What is a Poke?
    • A: You can use Poke for many purpose on Snember. Saying hello to your friends, for instance. But if you Poke with people who are not allowed to see your profile, they will temporarily be able to view your basic information, work information and education information. When you Poke someone, your poke message will appear on their home page.
    • Q:What happens when I Poke someone?
    • A: When you Poke someone, a Poke icon will appear on their home page. They can choose to "Remove Poke" or "Poke Back."

• FRIENDS

  • • Q:I can’t add someone as a friend.
    • A: When you discover people through Explore Expert or Expert functions (e.g. photo, blog, event, opinion, poll, group or network in the Expert area), you can’t request to be their friend. In the Expert area you can only request to be their fan. Snember has the Expert area to keep your privacy against unfamiliar users.
    • Q:I can’t add someone as a fan.
    • A: When you discover people through Explore People or Personal functions (e.g. photo, blog, event, opinion, poll, group or network in the Personal area), you can’t request to be their fan. Because when you’re allowed to access someone’s Personal area, you can automatically add him/her as your friend. Once you’re friends, you can access their Expert Showcase and request to be a fan later on.
    • Q:What is "I am a fan of" box?
    • A: It’s a list of people you have requested to be their fan.
    • Q:What is a mutual friend?
    • A: It’s a list of people who are friends to you and to your friends.
    • Q:What is the difference between a friend and a fan relationship?
    • A:

      A friend is the closest form of relationship in Snember. Your friends can access both your Personal Profile and your Expert Showcase.

      A fan is rather an official relationship in Expert areas. Your fan can only access your Expert Showcase but not your Personal Profile.

    • Q:How do I remove friends?
    • A:

      You can block your friends by

      1. Go to Privacy Settings.
      2. Select Search & Access.
      3. Click "add" in Block list area.
      4. Choose who you want to block.
      5. Click "save".

• GROUPS

  • • Q:What is "Network" on the Create Group page?
    • A:

      Network is the area you locate your group. There are two levels of network:

      Global Group (All Network). If you locate your group here, it will appear in every network and will be visible to everyone on Snember.

      Host Network (or Sub Network). If you locate your group here, it will appear only in Host Network or Sub Network and will be visible only to people under the same Host Network or Sub Network.

    • Q:What is "Access Policy" on the Create Group page?
    • A:

      Access Policy states the joining conditions of each group. There’re three levels of joining conditions:

      Open: Anyone can join this group instantly. Group members can also invite more people to join the group and everyone can view group information.

      Closed: Anyone can join this group but only with approval from group administrators. Only group administrators can invite people to join and only group members can view group information.

      Secret: Only people who are invited by group administrators can join. Only group administrators can invite people to join and only group members can view group information.

    • Q:What is Group Officer?
    • A: Group officers can only be appointed by group administrators. Group officer can’t modify group information, unlike group administrators.
    • Q:Can I invite my friend/fan to join my group?
    • A: You can invite people to join. You will find this feature on step 3 in the Create Group process.
    • Q:Can I invite the other groups’ members to join my group?
    • A: You have to be an administrator of the group you want to invite its members.
    • Q:Can I invite network members to join my group?
    • A: You have to be an administrator of the network you want to invite its members.
    • Q:Can I share a group with my friends?
    • A: You can share your group with your friends. Go to Group page and select Share. Then put in the name of the friends you want to share your group with.
    • Q:What is the Related Group?
    • A: Related Groups are groups that are created either by the same Group Owner, Group Administrator, Group Officer or Group Member.
    • Q:What is the difference between network and group?
    • A:

      Network means organizations or institutes that exist in the real world, such as Thailand network, ABAC network.

      Group means group of people of the same interest. Group can exist in the real world or only in the cyber world.

    • Q:How do I remove group?
    • A: To remove group, you have to go to Group page, then select Edit group and select Remove.

• NETWORKS

  • • Q:Can I change the country network?
    • A: You can change your Regional network twice every 60 days
    • Q:I can’t find my Educational Network on Snember.
    • A: You can suggest your Educational Network here. Snember team will verify your Educational Network and add it to our list.
    • Q:I can’t find my Workplace Network on Snember.
    • A: You can suggest your Workplace Network here. Snember team will verify your Workplace Network and add it to our list.
    • Q:What is the difference between Host Network and Sub Network?
    • A: Host Network is a parental network of a Sub Network. For example, Thailand Host Network has Bangkok and Chonburi as its Sub Networks.

• PHOTOS

  • • Q:I’m having trouble uploading photos. I can’t upload any photos using the Advance Uplaoder.
    • A:

      Please make sure you are using an unedited version of the image. Editing the photo using third party software may cause it to upload incorrectly or fail to upload entirely.

      Please also make sure you are not uploading an image whose length or width is three times longer than the other dimension.Please note that we only support the uploading of .jpg, .jpeg, and .png files.

      Please make sure that you have the latest version of your browser installed and have also updated your version of Java.

    • Q:I can’t view photos sometimes. I can’t view any images from Snember.
    • A:

      If you are able to view photos sometimes and not others, please clear your cache using the steps below:

      For Personal Album, people who are not related to you and who belong to different networks will not be able to view your Personal Album. You can set your Personal Album privacy according to 4 viewer types:

      • All my networks and all my friends
      • Some of my networks and all my friends
      • All my friends
      • Some of my friends

      For Expert Album, please check whether your Expert Album privacy is set to "Show in your Expert Profile (public)". With this setting, anyone can view photos in your Expert Album from Explore Photo function but they can't access your Expert Showcase page and Expert Album page.

    • Q:What is the difference between Personal and Expert album?
    • A:

      Personal Album is shown in your Personal Profile. Only your friends can view this album. But other people besides your friends can view photos in your Personal Album via Explore Photo. However it depends how you set your album privacy. You can choose to allow 4 types of viewers:

      • All my networks and all my friends
      • Some of my networks and all my friends
      • All my friends
      • Some of my friends

      Expert Album is shown in your Expert Showcase. Your friends, your fans and people on the 2nd – 3rd relationship degrees can view this album. But other people besides the mentioned ones can view photos in your Expert Album via Explore Photo. However it depends how you set your album privacy.

    • Q:Can I set my album to display both Personal and Expert album?
    • A: You can go to Create/Edit Photo on Album Details tab to set your Personal and Expert Album privacy.
    • Q:What is the "posted photos" tab on my photo list page?
    • A: Every photo you upload from your computer and photos you posted on blog, group, network, event, poll and opinion will be shown on Posted Photos tab.
    • Q:Can I move photos to other album?
    • A: You can go to Edit Photo page and select Photo Details tab to move your photos.

• EVENTS

    • A: Personal Event is the event you arrange for your friends or people you have close relationship with. People who join this event will see each other's real names and can request to be friends. Expert Event is the event you arrange for your fans or people in the same area of expertise. People who join this event can only request to be fans but not friends.
    • Q:I can't find my city when I tried to create an event.
    • A: You can suggest your city here. Snember team will verify your city and add it to our list.
    • Q:What is "Network" on the Create Event page?
    • A:

    • A: "Hosted by" tells you who arrange each particular event. You can put in your names or other's names or group name.

      Access Policy states the joining conditions of each event. There’re three levels of joining conditions:

      Open: Anyone can join this event instantly. Event guests can also invite more people to join the event and everyone can view event information.

      Closed: Anyone can join this event but only with approval from event administrators. Only event administrators can invite people to join and only event guests can view event information.

      Secret: Only people who are invited by event administrators can join. Only event administrators can invite people to join and only event guests can view group information.

    • Q:What is the official event? Can I create one?
    • A: Official event is created by group administrators or network administrators. Only top ranking groups can create this type of event.
    • Q:I can’t invite my group members to join an event.
    • A: You have to be a group administrators to invite group members to join your event.
    • Q:Can I share my event with my friend?
    • A: You can share your event with your friends by accessing Event page, then select Share and put in the names of friends you want to share your event with.
    • Q:How do I remove my event?
    • A: You can remove your event by going to Event page, then select Edit event and click Remove.
